The Climate Change Alliance of Botanic Gardens brings together botanic organisations and friends to take action to protect and enable adaptation of botanic landscapes in a changing climate. You can read the Alliance’s charter here.
The Alliance has released a free Landscape Succession Toolkit, a first-of-its-kind that offers botanic gardens and arboreta a framework by which to adapt to the climate crisis, and transition their living landscapes and plant collections to ones that will continue to thrive in the future climate.
While the toolkit has a focus on organisational change management, it does set out strategies that garden owners might draw upon in planning how adapt to changes in the climate.
