The Australian Garden History Society is delighted to announce the winner of the essay competition for QUT Landscape Architecture students. The competition arose out of a collaboration between AGHS and QUT to encourage interest among landscape architecture students in the history of gardens and cultural landscapes.
The 1500-word essays were judged by two prominent members of the AGHS Queensland Branch, John Taylor and Jean Sim.
The winner is Kylie Jones, a second-year student in the Bachelor of Built Environment (Landscape Architecture) at Queensland University of Technology.
Both judges were taken with the originality of Kylie’s essay topic (gardening through video games) and look forward to her article appearing in the January issue of Australian Garden History. It will be something new and thought provoking for garden history enthusiasts.
Kylie also receives a cash prize of $1,000.
