Rosemary Simpson, a member of AGHS since the beginning, has written the story of her gardening life. Rosemary Simpson (née Turnbull) was born in Melbourne in 1929 to Ernest and Joyce Turnbull. In 1936 the family moved to Sydney, and after the Second World War spent time in the United States and Europe. With her first husband, David Lloyd Jones, she had four children, and then she had a son with her second husband, Bob Simpson. In 2022, she left her property, Banksia Bend in the Yarra Valley, to return to Melbourne. The story of her many gardens is accompanied by glorious photographs, like this one by renowned photographer, Kimbal Baker.
Rosemary is generously donating the money raised from sales of her book to the Nina Crone Writing Fund.

Nina Crone OAM (1934–2007) was an Australian gardening writer, broadcaster, teacher and school principal. She was editor of Australian Garden History from 2001 to 2006. The aim of the Nina Crone Writing Fund is to attract new voices in the field of Australian garden history.
