Zoom lecture: Big Hearted Gardens

24 June @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm AEST

You are invited to our annual Winter webinar and fundraiser for the Nina Crone Writing Fund

Big Hearted Gardens: Community and Care at the Melbourne Flower & Garden Show

Join landscape architect Emma Sheppard-Simms and go behind the scenes of the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS) to hear about how she created two beautiful, socially conscious and award-winning show gardens at MIFGS in 2023 and 2024.

In 2020, Emma Sheppard-Simms launched her business Plantery Landscape Architecture specialising in biodiverse and climate-resilient design for suburban gardens. In 2024 Emma received the Nina Crone Writing Award for her article, ‘Goodbye Ramsay St: Chasing the suburban Dream in Vermont’ published in our April 2024 Australian Garden History journal.

This is a fundraising event. The money raised from this webinar will be directed to the Nina Crone Writing Fund, which aims to support new and emerging writers in the field of Australian garden history. In addition to the webinar fee, you are welcome to make a tax-deductable donation that contributes to this important fund.

Tickets:

  • Members – $10
  • Non-members – $15
  • Students – $5

Bookings are essential.

Book: at Trybooking.

A Zoom link to the webinar will be issued once you book.
