2025 Annual National Conference
31 October - 2 November

Mount Gambier Conference 2025
Beyond the Garden Fence
The 2025 AGHS conference will be held at The Barn, Mount Gambier from Friday 31st October to Sunday 2nd November. Early registration will be available on Thursday 30th and the optional day tour will be on Monday 3rd November. Pre and post tours between Adelaide and Mount Gambier are in the planning stage.
The theme this year is Beyond the Garden Fence which means that we will be looking not only at beautiful gardens, but at the geology of the area and at land uses.
We have put together a great team of speakers and have planned some amazing bus trips. The accommodation is plentiful, the food will be first class, the wines local and the company, as always, very enjoyable.
If you want to practice the Aboriginal (Boandik) names of some of the places we will visit, try the following:
- Umpherston Sinkhole / Balumbul (Bah-loom-bool)
- Blue Lake / Warwar (Waa-wore)
- Cave Garden / Thugi (Th-oo-gi)
If European poetry is your interest, try Adam Lindsay Gordon (written near Mt Gambier):
Life is mostly froth and bubble;
Two things stand like stone,
Kindness in another’s trouble,
Courage in your own.
Registration opens on 1st May. We look forward to seeing you there.
