Sydney Branch: Haberfield to Horsley

10 September 2022 @ 9:00 am - 4:30 pm AEST

Horsely (Image: Anne Smith)

A self-drive tour starting at historic Yasmar in Haberfield, touring Elizabeth Farm at Parramatta and finishing at colonial homestead Horsley at Horsley Park. This continues the garden tours originally planned for the National 2020 Sydney Conference Conference ‘Many Dreams, One Landscape’.

Haberfield was Australia’s first successful planned garden suburb. En route from Yasmar we will visit The Appian Way in Burwood, perhaps Australia’s finest street of Federation houses and gardens. Next will be Parramatta, original home of the Burramattagal, a clan of the Darug. Here a visit to Elizabeth Farm, one of the oldest European structures in the country will be followed by lunch in Wisteria Gardens at Parramatta Park. Lastly we drive to Horsley Park to see the 1830s homestead set among its associated outbuildings and garden and remnant rural landscape.

Cost: $50.00 AGHS members (includes morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea).

Book: at Trybooking.
