Victoria branch: Self-drive and bushwalk Harbury

10 July @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm AEST

Harbury was gifted to Trust for Nature in the late 1970s by Diana Craig (nee Mann, daughter of Sir Frederick Mann from Goronga), to ensure the preservation of the flora and fauna of this beautiful forest. The property comprises 20 hectares of bushland with three creeks including the Bessie Creek. The landscape has a rich diversity of flora associated with the fern gullies, as well as with the different north and south facing slopes.

An historical overview of the late Diana Craig will be given by Trevor Pitkin followed by a bushwalk led by Ben Cullen from TFN. There will be frequent stops to hear the commentary. Lunch back at Goronga is an added bonus.

Meeting Place: Goronga property 20 Matilda St Pakenham Upper, for carpooling to Harbury, 5 minutes away with limited car parking. Carpooling from Melbourne encouraged.

Read the AGHS Garden History of Goronga.

Return: to Goronga by 12 noon for BYO lunch on the sheltered verandahs with tea/coffee supplied.

BYO: Walking boots/shoes, (soles will be sanitised on entry/exit), walking poles if you use them, lunch and folding chairs

COST: Free to members and friends but bookings essential so we can contact you if necessary.
